The closing track incorporates Scourby’s concluding remarks, recorded at the end of Side 2 on each record. It includes a spoken date-stamp: ‘July 1964’.

The title ‘Tailpiece’ refers to the ‘silent’ groove (on which no recording has been made) that spirals-in from the end of the track on either side of the disc towards the centre.
