about

This is the original recording played backwards. In part it demonstrates, like the revelation of a conjuring trick, how some of the choir’s melodic lines and Roberts’s words and phrases, heard on the suite, were achieved.

Lyric
Choir: (Tôn: ‘Cwmnêdd’ [Tune: ‘Neath Valley’])
[unintelligible]
The Lamb that givest all away.
The Lamb on Calvary.
O the Lamb, the bleeding Lamb ...

ER: Do resolve you: he’s the way to be free?
Do you love Jesus?

ER/Choir: Do you not hear?

Choir: Ha-ha-ha-ha!

ER: He will need thousands of friends in Wales.
and stir up a few friends to serve God [unintelligible].
Give him all, all lands [unintelligible],
God will come unto them.
Men must keep their promise.

[unintelligible]
[unintelligible] Jesus comes out of the grave.
Hear my brethren, he gave of himself.
To everything except destruction.
A way to what?
And his tongues say: ‘I am the way.'
God spoke through prophets; he now speaking in tongues.

God took up his cause; man cannot do less.
God takest [and he leaves].
The needs of our valuables – only a copper.
What can we give God in return?
He was brought naked.
All eternity will not suffice.
Here is one who rises for his gloriously.
You can tell some people stories in five minutes.

Choir: (Tôn: ‘Dymuniad’ [Tune: ‘Desire’])
O Lamb that gave us glory.
O God the only mercy,

ER: Sing it again that you believe.

Choir: We do! We do!

ER: Do you believe that?
Do you believe that, brethren?

Choir: (Tôn: ‘Dymuniad’ [Tune: ‘Desire’])
O Lamb that gave us glory.
O God the only mercy,

ER: [unintelligible]
