The source material for the composition comprises sounds made in the studios of the School of Art, Aberystwyth University during the first week of preparations for the end of year, fine art degree shows. They include sanding, scraping, painting, drilling, sawing, and hammering.


Personnel: third year BA (Hons.) Fine Art students, technicians, and John Harvey.

Instrumentation: emulsion paint, mdf board, timber, sandpaper, brushes, craft knife, electric drill, hammer, saw, Yamaha Pocketrak PR7 digital recorder, and Adobe Audition CS6.

Context: the preparation of the 2016 Undergraduate Exhibition and Postgraduate Show, School of Art, Abersytwyth University. Conceived and mastered in Aberystwyth, UK, 3-6 May 2016.
